Search the hashtag #waistgang on Instagram and you’ll find a huge amount of photos of people sporting a super cinched waist, but is it effective and what damage is this modern corset doing to your body? Medical professionals agree there is no evidence waist training blasts your excess tummy fat away as the product suggests. You will look slimmer while wearing the trainer, but it won’t do anything to help you lose inches permanently or to improve your core strength. Worse still, you’re squashing your internal organs in an attempt to look slim! The waist trainer can easily interfere with your breathing, there’s a chance you can push your stomach up beyond your diaphragm, causing reflux or heartburn. If you feel like you need to slim your waist, stick to eating well and being active! It may not be a quick fix, but it’s the healthiest and safest long term solution.
